The Second Battle of Fallujah, Operation Dawn and Operation Phantom Fury,
It was a joint offensive launched by the US military, Iraqi government forces and British forces from November to December 2004 when the war was in full swing.
The operation was authorized by the Iraqi transitional government and was preceded by an attack by U.S. Marines on rebels in Fallujah.
The battle was called by the U.S. military "the most intense street battle the Marine Corps has fought since the Battle of Hue in 1968."
