Today I set out to make a $20 halloween dinner for 4, complete with an appetizer, entree, dessert, and a beverage. The only caveat, my Dollar Tree doesn't have a working fridge and their freezer is practically empty. But we still made some magic happen! The meals: Appetizer: "Mummified" Tamale Pie Biscuit Mix Canned Tamales Canned chili I mixed the biscuit mix with 1/4 cup of water and kneaded it together like a pie dough. Cover and chill for 30 minutes, roll it out as thin as possible and cut it into thin strips. Open chili and pour into the bottom of a baking dish, add tamales (remove paper first) then lay down your biscuit strips in a "mummy" style. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Entree: Spider Pizza Pasta 2 boxes of macaroni & cheese Pasta sauce Pepperoni Black Olives Parmesan cheese Add the macaroni noodles into a pot with 3 cups of water, 1 cup of pasta sauce, 2 tablespoons of oil, and the cheese powder packets. Mix to combine then bring to a boil and simmer for 6 to 8 minutes until the pasta is cooked. Top with parmesan cheese, pepperoni, and black olive spiders. Dessert: Vampire Mouth Cookies Chocolate Chip Cookies Red Frosting Mini Marshmallows Gently cut cookies in half (use a sawing motion so cookies don't break). Spread the inside of each half with some red frosting and a few mini marshmallow "teeth". Add 2nd cookie half on top to complete the mouth. Bonus: Juice & Gummy worms for a "pickled worm" punch Bugles, caramel popcorn and optional candy corn for a sweet and salty movie mix Enjoy!
