Due to a weather delay on the first day, players at the 2000 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach were still wrapping up their second rounds as they headed into moving day. Pebble Beach challenged many competitors, but Tiger Woods rose above the crowd. He was the only player under par heading into the final round, leaving Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, and Phil Mickelson battling for second place behind Woods.
