Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this EPIC level of detail diagnosis and repair video we go after a P0171 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) step by step, and the resulting replacement of the intake manifold assembly for the General Motors Ecotec 1.4L gasoline fueled engine, regular production option (RPO) LUJ/LUV type. This particular engine experiences the P0171 DTC usually thru a failure of one of the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) components. This video is part one of a two part series. The intake manifold is part of the PCV operation with this GM engine and often the root cause for the failures that lead up to the code being generated. The vehicle illustrated is a 2012 Chevy Cruze ECO sedan with the GM Ecotec 1.4L turbocharged engine option, but the part numbers and intake manifold replacement procedure shown apply to *any* GM vehicle equipped with this same engine as listed by model and model year below: Buick Encore 2013 - 2021 Chevrolet Cruze 2011 - 2015 Chevrolet Cruze Limited 2016 Chevrolet Sonic 2012 - 2020 Chevrolet Trax 2013 - 2021 Here's are links to the two GM service bulletins shown in the video: 19-NA-101 bulletin: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10161948-9999.pdf PIP5197L bulletin: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10154560-9999.pdf *The eBay and Amazon search links below are paid links, for which I may be compensated and earn a commission, if you choose to buy the parts and tools shown in this video thru them:* CRC throttle body & air intake cleaner: https://ebay.us/6P43FN or https://amzn.to/4iHnV32 OTC 5630 fuel pressure gauge: https://ebay.us/vIv8fA or https://amzn.to/4inIiCC Lisle 37000 or Lisle 39400 fuel line disconnect tool set: https://ebay.us/LRq2J6 or https://amzn.to/41CeZVK Assorted cotton swabs: https://ebay.us/UYczNU or https://amzn.to/4iDI36J GM 55566664 intake manifold to cylinder head gasket: https://ebay.us/wcop2H or https://amzn.to/41IH79J GM 55566665 / ACDelco 219-619 intake manifold to throttle body gasket: https://ebay.us/6H2fQr or https://amzn.to/4bSNvjl GM 28289977 (supersedes GM 25200449, GM 55577314, GM 55573168, and GM 55581014) intake manifold: https://ebay.us/SfiCdB or https://amzn.to/4htd5N7 GM factory service manuals for all models with this engine: https://ebay.us/DbbJ3M The exact match to the exact 90° oval hole, locking wing, arrow head push mount wiring harness cable tie that broke during the filming of this video would be a HellermannTyton part 150-48397 type T80RFT6X12-PA46-GY harness fixing tie: https://ebay.us/yTqmvU _And if I've saved you some $$ here, consider some coins for the coffee tip-jar!_ https://ko-fi.com/drshock 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 Chapters: 0:00 - Problem overview 0:43 - Most common diagnosing approach for P0171 4:10 - Inspecting the PCV bypass valve of the intake manifold 9:47 - P0171 related service bulletins from GM 12:25 - Parts explosion review 13:38 - Service manual removal procedure overview 17:15 - Removing the intake manifold 45:11 - Inspecting inside of the intake manifold 50:42 - Disassembling the intake manifold 58:07 - Preparing the new intake manifold 1:02:21 - Service manual installation & reassembly procedure overview 1:04:15 - Reassembling the intake manifold 1:10:37 - Installing the intake manifold #drshock #chevycruze #chevysonic #chevytrax #buickencore _Disclaimer: DrShock, the alias for the human content creator for this YouTube channel, is not responsible for any damages, injuries, losses, or liabilities associated with any repairs, upgrades, or maintenance performed on yours, or any other, vehicle whatsoever.
