Несомненно, жемчужиной Тянь-Шаня является невероятная пирамида – Хан-Тенгри (7010 м.). Пик Хан-Тенгри находится в самой отдаленной северной части великих гор Азии, и занимает здесь второе место по высоте. Местные жители называют снежные вершины «Небесными горами». Первыми, кто покорили вершину Хан-Тенгри, были советские альпинисты в 1931 году, по западному хребту. С тех пор советские альпинисты покоряли вершину со всех стен и хребтов.
Лучше гор могут быть только горы, на которых еще не бывал...

Undoubtedly, the Jewel of the Tien-Shan is the wonderful pyramid of Khan-Tengri . Khan-Tengri peak, which is situated in the northerly and remote part of the great Asian mountains, takes the second place among the highest mounts. The local people call the white peaks 'The Mountains of Heaven'. It was a Soviet expedition which first conquered the summit of Khan-Tengri peak in 1931, via the West Ridge and West Col. Soviet teams have climbed the majority of Khan-Tengri’s faces and ridges since then.
The one thing that is better than heights, is the height that I haven’t yet reached...
