The National Patent Application Drafting Competition (NPADC) is a team competition that introduces law students to U.S. patent laws and regulations, and helps them develop patent application drafting skills. The recently held regional competitions hosted 39 teams, who were judged on describing the invention, developing a prior art search strategy and identifying relevant references, determining patentable subject matter, constructing claims, and creating drawings.
