The Kingikmiut Dancers and Singers are a troupe of Alaska Native performers based in Anchorage. They specialize in sharing traditional Inupiat songs and dances with audiences. A majority of these dances have their roots in the village of Wales, also known as Kingik, which is one of the oldest settlements on the Seward Peninsula. Wales is situated about 150 miles northwest of Nome and just under 50 miles east of mainland Siberia. The Kingikmiut Dancers and Singers' repertoire includes a diverse range of performances, such as women's bench dances, both women's and men's motion dances, as well as common dances. These common dances are inclusive, inviting anyone from the audience to participate.
