I had the incredible opportunity to join the Duck Camp in Stanwood, Washington, for my very first waterfowl hunt, and what a memorable experience it turned out to be. To my surprise, the sky was filled with birds, and the weather couldn’t have been better. Our guides, Scott and Brian, were outstanding, making the hunt both challenging and incredibly rewarding.
Over the course of two weekends, we learned a lot about hunting these birds. Setting up and taking down decoys, along with trying to predict the birds' next move, kept all of us on our toes. But Scott was in his element, skillfully working the birds right into our decoys.
The first weekend, Mike Peterson and I focused on learning the ropes, gaining valuable experience. By weekend two, I was joined by David Sandana, and we had an absolute blast.
