赤坂氷川祭では、境内において毎年盆踊り大会が開催されています。盆踊り大会は、赤坂氷川祭の「神賑（にぎわい）」の一環として行われるもので、露店や赤坂名店街が出店。
赤坂氷川祭は、江戸時代から続く歴史あるお祭りで、最盛期には山王権現や神田明神に並ぶ大規模な祭礼として知られていました。江戸時代後期に書かれた『東都歳時記』には「山王権現、神田明神に続し大祭祀なり」と記されており、一般の人々の間でも「江戸第三の祭」として認識されているそうです。
At the Akasaka Hikawa Festival, a Bon festival is held every year in the precincts of the shrine. The Bon Odori Festival is held as part of the Akasaka Hikawa Festival's "gamburi" festival, and stalls and Akasaka famous shops are open.
The Akasaka Hikawa Festival is a historic festival that has continued since the Edo period and was known as a large-scale festival in line with the Yamao Gonzen and Kanda Myojin at its peak. In the "Tohito Shoshiki" written in the late Edo period, it is written as "a great memorial service following the Kanda Myojin of Yamao Gonzen" and is recognized by ordinary people as the "Edo Third Festival."
