That’s right! I’m counting down the days to start my 2025 Appalachian Trail thru hike!
I’ve been testing and choosing my gear over the past 5 years and have narrowed it down to my final selections—and here they are along with 5 days & 4 nights of food in my bear bag!
*Fyi… I accidentally call my Enlightened Equipment quilt’s STUFF SACK a COMPRESSION SACK when explaining that it doesn’t fit down in the bottom of my pack’s main compartment. I actually did try a REAL compression sack with the exact same result = it still was too long to fit into the bottom of my Durston. I think maybe because it’s a 20 degree, synthetic, REGULAR/WIDE quilt (because I side-sleep, curled up) it might take up more volume than a REGULAR /REGULAR quilt (or a disgusting down quilt made from dead animals).
