The Coming of Age Ceremony is an event held mainly on the second Monday of January by local governments in Japan to encourage and congratulate people who will become adults within the school year. Hold a lecture or present a commemorative gift. However, since it is not sponsored by the Japanese government but by each local government, the school age system is the same everywhere, but some local governments host it on days other than Coming of Age Day.
成人式とは、年度内に成人となる人々を学齢ごとに日本の各地方自治体が主に1月第2月曜日に激励・祝福する行事である。講演会を開いたり、記念品を贈ったりする。しかし、日本国政府の主催ではなく各地方自治体が自主的に行っているため、学齢方式はどこも同じだが成人の日以外に主催する自治体も存在する。
