This is the story of Marianne a girl living in Olongapo during the 1980s where her mother met and became friends with a Filipino American (filam) US Navy Officer called Lt Edmundo Ritarita. He was like a step-father to Marianne for over 10 years until they lost contact after the Mt Pinatubo Volcano eruption on June 15th 1991. Recently Marianne contacted me to see if I could find her beloved Dad, so I traveled to Olongapo near the old Subic Bay Naval Base area to find out more information and help find her missing US Navy Step-Father. #usnavy #missingfather
Olongapo is a City that grew on the back of the U.S. Naval Base at Subic Bay. Many Amerasian children were left by the ship when the base closed in the 1990s.
