Video Not Working? Fix It Now

By July 1916 on the Western Front, the infamous Battle of the Somme was raging. Since the start of the month, bloody assaults had been launched by British and French troops, with devastating results. Stuck in bloody stalemate, the allies searched for any opportunity to weaken the German defences and force a much needed breakthrough. Surprisingly, allied eyes turned north, away from the Somme, to launch a diversionary assault in the hopes of preventing reinforcements moving south. That battle, destined to go down as the bloodiest day in Australian military history, was to be fought here, outside the village of Fromelles.
