The holy decrees enacted by Lord Vishnu are enforced by Lord Varuna. He has sovereignty over Shatabhisha. He maintains law and order, is true to eternal laws, and is worshipped for forgiveness for one’s sins and those of the ancestors. Those unforgiven face his many fettered net. His net is equal to 100 shackles, which symbolizes the 100 stars that comprise this Nakshatra. These 100 stars are also symbolic of his all-seeing eyes. He’s privy to every misdeed. He insists on adherence to the law, atonement for all, and purification of “karma”.
