25-Knot Docking Practice – Raw Lesson in a Tight Croatian Marina

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Here’s raw footage from a docking lesson during my OranTeach sailing course in Croatia.

We slid into Marina Kremik the night before and woke up to a juicy 15–25 knots on the beam. The marina was quiet, the dock forgiving, so—why not? Perfect time for a full-send docking session.

This was Day 2 for the crew. Day 1 was all about getting friendly with the boat:
Feeling how soft (or stubborn) those throttles are
Finding the pivot point and the boat’s turning force
Reading the wind and currents
Reversing practice + spring-line drills

Below are two attempts—captured on the drone and GoPro—so you get every wobble and win.
Thank you Karl Nesseler, for bringing your sick drone onboard 🤘🏼

If you want real confidence on the helm, learn by understanding and messing up—feel the mistakes, see what happens, fix it, repeat.
Ask around, discuss with other captains.
Later think for yourself, feel your own boat, develop your own approaches, handle problems calmly, and enjoy the adventure that is sailing.

Sound like your jam?
