VN24 - 07/26/2021 - Hagen / Germany - In a traffic accident on the A45 freeway near Hagen, a tractor-trailer overturned on Monday (26/7). Its driver suffered minor injuries. There were shutdowns lasting several hours.
According to initial findings, a 20-year-old truck driver was traveling with his tractor-trailer at about 06:25 in the direction of Dortmund (northbound) Near the Hagen-Süd junction - in the area of a construction site - the truck veered to the right for reasons that have not yet been explained, collided with the adjacent concrete safety barrier and tipped over onto its left side. Several beverage cans of a popular energy drink, which the tractor-trailer was fully loaded with, fell onto the roadway. An ambulance took the driver to a hospital for checks and further treatment.
The carriageway in the direction of Dortmund was closed during the accident investigation and recovery operations and traffic was diverted at the Lüdenscheid-Nord junction.
In addition, police officers issued around 20 violations against suspected rubberneckers who were using their cell phones while driving.
