良い木でも、イボタは売れない、、、
昔、業者さんが嘆いていたのを思い出します。
しかし、最近の展示会では、枝を細かく仕上げられたイボタの良品をしばしば目にするようになりました。
小さな盆栽として育て得る樹種は、実はさほど多くありません。
この樹種が丈夫で、ハードな剪定にもよく耐える特性が、見直されたのかもしれませんね。
そこで今回、私もこのイボタを幾つかを全葉刈りしてみました。
ともするとゴツくなりやすい枝先を、葉刈りによって細かく作ることに挑戦です。
昨今では、技術によって意外な樹種が見直されつつあると感じています。
