I’ve ridden plus and fat bikes for a few years now, but I’ve never done a back to back comparison of the two sizes. In this video, I take my Surly Ice Cream Truck up and down the same trail twice, once with 26x4.8” tires and next with 29x3.0” tires to see how they stack up.
Unfortunately it was getting dark on the 29+ ride so the video quality suffered toward the end of the ride, but hopefully you can still see how my ride compared on the same sections of trail on the two different tire sizes.
