In today's video I share 3 steps to self-publish your first tabletop game.
Create a Great Game
--Design, playtest, and develop a game people want to completion
--Open business-specific financial accounts
--Pick a manufacturer and seek estimates
--Invest in art, graphic design (for aesthetics and file prep), and oversight
--Search for trademarks but do not covet your idea
Crowdfund
--Back other projects
--Create a hub and a prelaunch page
--Build a crowd (content marketing, relationships, generosity, and advertising)
--Share the prototype with reviewers/previewers
--Populate and perfect your project page: What the game is and why it's special, funding goal, reward types and pricing (retailers), promo content/stretch goals.
--Launch and run the campaign when you and the game are ready.
--Put your backers first to build community, increase awareness, improve the product, raise funds, gauge demand, and optimize shipping.
Fulfill Your Promises
--Send the files to your manufacturer while consistently updating backers
--Continue to sell the product (webstore or pledge manager)
--Coordinate with fulfillment centers
--Release with a boom (ship to backers, reviewers, retail release, conventions)
