1. Check the recruiter’s LinkedIn/ social media to find something you both have in common or something they are passionate about and get them talking about it. Everyone loves to talk about themselves and their passions, so this will make them excited to talk to you.
2. In your 2nd round interview or later, mention the previous interviewer by name and say something specific that they mentioned (especially if it’s something funny or interesting). Mentioning other employees at the company by name subconsciously allows the recruiter to feel as if you are already part of the company.
3. Mention something exciting & unique that you like to do (hiking, snowboarding, DJing, etc). You want them to envision you as an interesting person who lives life to the fullest and will bring good energy to the company.
