This is my latest 3 yard quilt tutorial in my journey towards making all the 3 yard quilts featured in Donna Richard's 3 Yard Quilt books. In this tutorial I am going to show you how to make the Modern Charm pattern from the Quick As A Wink 3 yard quilt book. We are going to focus on the half square triangles in this pattern because if you can make a half square triangle - you've got the quilting world by it's tail. The half square triangle is the bread and butter of quilting. The number of ways those hst's can be arrange to make a different look is amazing! My Mom and I did a mystery block of the month series that lasted 8 months and all we did was make half square triangles and arrange them differently to get 12 different blocks. There are several ways to make half square triangle blocks - you can choose the one you like best.
These quilts are fun, usually easier to make than they look, and a wonderful way to use your fabric stash. They are also economical because you can take 3 yards of coordinating fabric and Donna will show you the most efficient way to cut that fabric to make a lovely lap size quilt. You can also add borders to make the lap quilt even larger or you can follow the instructions in the book to make larger sizes using more fabric. Or you can just leave it the lap size and have a wonderful quilt for you, your family or for charity.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to watch my channel. I appreciate each and every one of you - you make my 'fun job' fun. Let's keep the fun in quilting. :-)
Have a great day, eat some chocolate (yes I know not everyone likes chocolate) and be kind to everyone (you might not like chocolate, but you can be kind to everyone).
