Introduced in 1944, the Raketenwerfer 56 was among the last in a long line of Nebelwerfer (lit. “fog thrower”) rocket artillery deployed by the German military during the Second World War. Designed to maximize use of existing resources, it could fire both the newer 30cm Wurfkörper 42 and older 15cm Wurfgranate 41 rockets through the fitting of adaptor rails.
