As the DJI Mavic 3, equipped with an Insta360 X4, lifts off from the rugged Ayrshire coastline, the viewer is immediately immersed in a breathtaking panoramic view of Trump Turnberry’s iconic landscape. The drone glides smoothly over the rolling dunes, where the North Sea meets the golden sands, and the waves crash against the jagged cliffs.
The Turnberry Lighthouse, standing tall and resilient, comes into view—a historic beacon that has guided sailors for over a century. Just beyond, the ancient ruins of Turnberry Castle, believed to be the birthplace of King Robert the Bruce, emerge from the windswept grass, whispering tales of Scotland’s rich history. The viewer is free to rotate the perspective, taking in the lush fairways and meticulously maintained greens of the championship golf course, stretching towards the horizon.
As the drone sweeps lower, the first signs of recent protests and vandalism become apparent. Spray-painted slogans in bold, jarring colors deface the pristine white walls near the clubhouse, contrasting sharply with the resort’s otherwise immaculate appearance. Some of the course’s signature features—bunkers sculpted into the dunes, finely manicured putting greens—show evidence of deliberate damage, with sections torn up and scattered. A few broken signs and overturned markers disrupt the otherwise elegant layout, remnants of the recent unrest.
Moving closer to the main resort, the grand architecture of the Turnberry Hotel dominates the landscape, its stately presence overlooking the sea. While the hotel itself appears mostly untouched, the surrounding grounds reveal more instances of defacement—graffiti on walkways, scuffed walls, and banners that have been torn down or altered. The 360° viewing experience allows the user to inspect each angle, zooming in on damaged areas or panning back to appreciate the sweeping beauty of the estate.
As the flight nears its end, the drone ascends once more, providing a striking contrast: the untouched beauty of the Ayrshire coast, its rolling hills and wild seas, set against the recent scars left upon one of Scotland’s most renowned golfing destinations. The Turnberry Lighthouse remains standing as a silent sentinel, its presence a reminder of resilience amid change.
With one final sweep across the landscape, the drone captures the vastness of this legendary site, before slowly retreating towards the horizon—leaving the viewer with a compelling and immersive perspective on both the majesty and the recent turmoil surrounding Trump Turnberry.
