THE RED SNOWBALL TREE
"Kalina Krasnaya" is a feature film by Vasily Shukshin based on the story of the same name. A dramatic story, as an attempt to start a new life for a person with a dark past. Yegor Prokudin, a man of lost destiny, spent many years in prison. A simple, textured and, in essence, a kind man, talking now with the sky, now with arable land, now with his beloved birches, "wants a holiday." Leaving prison, Yegor goes to the village where the blue-eyed stranger Lyuba Baikalova lives, with whom he corresponded - after all, you need to wait a little and look around. But life in the village ruins all plans of Prokudin, and he decides to break with the past forever. However, Yegor's former criminal friends are not going to put up with his new way of life.
