Half square triangles, there are many ways to make them, but here are four of Jeanette's favourite ways to make this useful little quilting square.
Formulas for Half Square Triangles (HST)
2 At a Time
Add 7/8ths to the finished size. For example for a 4 inch finished HST cut 2 squares at 4 7/8ths inches
4 At a Time
Multiply the finished size by 2 then subtract 1/4 inch,.For example for 4 inch finished (4x2= 8) - 1/4 = 7 3/4 inches
8 At a Time
Multiply the finished size by 2 then add 2 inches. For example for 4 inch finished (4x2= 8) + 2 = 10 inches
