4 Reasons why your ukulele is slipping and sliding while you play and HOW TO fix this!

Let's talk about ukulele slipping, sliding, and falling down. Expand this text box to read more about these common problems and how to fix them. As questions get added to the comments I will also expand on them here. 4. Switching chords If your ukulele is slipping when you switch chords here's how you can fix that. You will need to pivot your hand towards the head of the ukulele. The nut is where the head and the fingerboard meet. Have this part of the ukulele rest on your index finger (the ukulele bed). When you switch chords, use the ukulele bed position in between switches to give your ukulele a place to rest while you switch chords. Don't worry, this does feel a little awkward at first, but it gets easier with practice :) 3. The ukulele is the wrong size for you If you are playing a soprano ukulele, you may be experiencing more sliding/slipping/falling than normal. The soprano ukulele can be a little too small for some people to play comfortably. I recommend a concert sized ukulele (same size as the ukulele used in this video). 2. Strap buttons If holding the ukulele is still super awkward or uncomfortable, maybe you should get a ukulele with strap buttons or have some installed. Ukulele placement confusion If you can't find a comfortable placement for the ukulele in front of your belly or on your torso, try moving the ukulele a little bit higher up on your chest.
