4 years after my 3-level ACDF surgery (C4-C7), I’m digesting the news that I might need another spinal fusion. I’m waiting on a consult from UPenn in two weeks, but my current surgeon is recommending a minimally invasive, laparoscopic surgery from the back of my neck to fuse C3-C4 and reinforce lower levels, as he believes this could be the cause of the numbness and loss of function in my hands, arms, legs, and feet.
I’m struggling to accept the reality of facing more surgery.
