Mao Danqing is a writer and lifelong professor who has lived in Japan for nearly 40 years. When he first arrived in Japan, an experience of being woken up by a frog made him realize the beauty of the world, and this is how his relationship with Japanese literature began. As a teacher, he almost improvised in his lectures, insisting on conveying his feelings to students with hand-drawings, because in his view, education is not a product.
Mao Danqing in Japan these thirty years, the first 10 years selling fish, the second 10 years as a Japanese writer, the third 10 years as a professor. The key words in his life are “act according to the trend” and “be consistent in what you say”.
