Recorded November 2nd, but wouldn't export even onto an external harddrive until I freed up a whole lot more space on my local drive. Glad I finally got around to deleting a few things, and am getting a bit more organised so I can get a few more of these videos out!
I've played in 43-equal a little over the years, though not nearly as much as I have in 31- or 50-equal or 6th-comma meantone or 12-tone well-temperaments. It certainly shares a few things in common with all of the above, but it's really the first meantone tuning that is bright enough to do modern music reasonably well and also to extend well into the 13-limit, so it allows some conventional and also rather unconventional harmonies, and it suits a reasonable range of styles, although it isn't as laser-accurate when looking at many of the usual JI ratios.
Seven and nine chords have a rather nice glow, shimmer, a warmth to them, and they're the focus in this improvised little jam.
