What is yosakoi?
Yosakoi is a dance originating in Kochi prefecture, Japan. Dancers perform both on stage and down parade routes at festivals throughout the country. It is a very free dance form, with a few rules other than the use of wooden clappers called "naruko". There are hundreds of teams across Japan, each with their own unique choreography, music, and costumes.
