DATE：February 2022 The town of Kawazu on the Izu peninsula,south-west of Tokyo is famous for its early-blooming cherry trees.
Kawazu Sakura is the type of cherry blossom trees in Japan which
starts blooming earlier than other trees usually in early February and has long-lasting blooming period for about 1 month depending on temperature.
The Kawazu Cherry Blossom FestivaL is held yearly from early February to early March in the town of Kawazu.
静岡県の河津町は、伊豆半島の南東に位置し、天城山系の豊かな森林を源とする清流河津川が相模湾にそそぐ自然豊かな町です。早咲きで知られる河津桜は、伊豆の温暖な気候と早咲きの特色を生かし毎年２月上旬から開花しはじめ約１ヶ月を経て満開。この桜は、本州でも早咲きの種類に分類され、更に満開を長く維持できる特徴。数年前までは無名の河津桜もここ数年で全国に浸透し、町内には8000本のカワヅザクラが咲き誇る。まつり期間中は200万人前後が訪れる名所になった。また、ライトアップもされ夜桜見物も楽しめる。
