Japan is famous worldwide for its incredibly efficient metro systems. They are all super clean, punctual, and very safe, serving as the backbone of transit in over 10 cities. They are all integrated with the rest of their respective city’s rail system through IC cards and often have through service with regional rail lines. Systems in cities like Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo move over 1 million people a day and provide high-quality transit to the residents of the regions. There are 3 main types of technology used in Japan’s metros which are standard heavy rail, linear induction, and rubber-treated people mover. The most common are standard heavy rail lines since they have the most capacity but multiple cities also use the other 2 since they are often cheaper and better accommodate the demand. If you find yourself in Japan I fully recommend using the subway if it’s available to you as there is truly no better way to get around. Enjoy the video and thank you for 5000 subscribers :)
