Nagoya Railroad Co., Ltd. (名古屋鉄道株式会社, Nagoya Tetsudō Kabushiki Gaisha), referred to as Meitetsu (名鉄), is a private railway company operating around Aichi Prefecture and Gifu Prefecture of Japan.
The whistle, which plays a melody, is called a music horn and is synonymous with Meitetsu.
In recent years it has become less common and you are lucky if you can hear it.
The Meitetsu Chita New Line (名鉄知多新線, Meitetsu Chita-shin-sen) or Chita Line is a connecting Fuki Station and Utsumi Station. The line features seven tunnels and a maximum grade of 3.4% (approximately 1 in 29).
The Meitetsu Kōwa Line (名鉄河和線, Meitetsu Kōwa-sen) is connecting Otagawa Station and Kowa Station.
The Meitetsu Tokoname Line (名鉄常滑線, Meitetsu Tokoname-sen) is connecting Jingū-mae Station in Nagoya and Tokoname Station in Tokoname.
