Disney Illuminations was a firework show presented in Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Paris, right outside of Paris, France. This firework show included projections, lasers, moving head lights, water fountains, fire and special pyrotechnics. It replaced Disney Dreams, which ran from April 1st 2012-March 24th 2017. Disney Illuminations debuted March 26th 2017 for the 25th anniversary of the park, and was heavily inspired by Ignite the Dream, the former firework show from Shanghai Disneyland in China. Disney Illuminations closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic on March 12th 2020. After returning again in December 2021, it ran till April 11th 2023 and was replaced by Disney Dreams for it's limited return run for the end of the 30th anniversary of Disneyland Paris. Disney Illuminations returned May 31st 2024 and held it's last performance on January 9th 2025. A brand new firework show called Disney Tales of Magic debuted on January 10th 2025. Though it has a lot of mixed reviews, it's one of the only nighttime shows ever made by Disney where Mickey Mouse is the actual "protagonist" of the show. It was the first firework show I ever saw in Disneyland Paris, and I find it to be one of my favorite firework shows ever. It holds a special place in my heart. Enjoy!
The Electrical Sky Parade was also amazing! It is Disneyland Paris' second drone show, debuting January 8th 2024, and is one of Disney's only drone shows. It basically moves the Main Street Electrical Parade (the version that ran in Disneyland Paris), and takes all of the floats and moves them up into the sky, the soundtrack of the parade plays as well, and it is a nice addition to the nighttime entertainment lineup!
This video was filmed on July 5th 2024 at the tip of Main Street USA into the Central Hub. Disney Electrical Sky Parade began at 10:50pm and Disney Illuminations followed at 11pm. I included the Pre-show and Post-show announcements, the intermission between the two shows, and Disney Illuminations Post-show. I placed the soundtrack for Disney Illuminations in the video as the audio recorded the night of the show came out with too much crowd noise, to further enjoy your viewing experience. I will definitely try to redo this angle at some point as a lot of things went wrong.
Some helpful information if you are planning on visiting Disneyland Paris and plan on watching the fireworks:
1: There is no crowd control. Look, I know we all get annoyed with the cast members in WDW and Disneyland saying "Stay to the right hand side, keep moving, etc" following a firework show, but it helps. In Disneyland Paris, that doesn't exist, there are no cast members with glow-sticks guiding traffic, and it gets really hectic. This is because Disneyland Paris doesn't have as many cast members as the U.S. Parks, so please be careful.
2: People seem to be kinder in some respect to others in Disneyland Paris than the U.S. parks. People were aware that I was filming via a tripod and were really careful around me, so thank you (except for a few minor incidents that happened throughout the show that were fully an accident). But because there is a lot less control over the crowd, it got pretty hectic following the show. I barely saw anyone get pushed to get a better view and people seemed to be staying in their places, as no cast members move traffic to "fill all available space"
