It has been some time since we published a cabride of a freight train in France. We are remedying this today with this heavy train pulled by a BB75400 that we will join from Montluçon to Gannat.
Little known, remote but at least pleasant, the route that we are taking today crosses the department of Allier (03) from west to east, taking the lines from Montluçon to Moulins, still open only from Montluçon to Commentry, as well as the line from Commentry to Gannat respectively. The speeds traveled on this line are not very high, allowing us to fully enjoy the beauty of the landscapes of Allier.
The maximum gradients still reach a maximum of 15 ‰, which does not leave our valiant BB75400 at rest! First double track followed single track, you will be able to admire the beauty of the mechanical signals still very present and active on this line operated in BM (Block Manual).
