Hakata's autumn seasonal tradition, the Nakasu Festival, has begun again this year.
With female mikoshi (portable shrines), a procession of courtesans, and a project to discover singing queens, this festival truly puts women at the center of attention.
I strolled down Nakasu-chuo-dori Avenue, bustling with tourists and office workers on their way home from work, and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of the autumn festival.
