6. Creating Visual Interest with Watercolour - An Introduction for Beginners

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

WANT TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR WATERCOLOUR WASHES? We often reach a point in our progression as watercolour painters where our work seems flat and it fails to capture what we want to express about the landscape. There may be several reasons for this, but one of the most common reasons is that our watercolour washes are boring and lack interest. In this video I show you how to vary your brushstrokes and introduce you to a method of painting that I call 'Painting in Threes,' with exercises that will help to give your paintings strong visual interest. This is the final video in a series of six for those beginning their watercolour journey. The other videos in the series are: 1) What is Watercolour https://youtu.be/Vqm2_Bym41A 2) Watercolour Equipment https://youtu.be/qHrgcXKHWUw 3) Watercolour Washes https://youtu.be/gm-uuT-UQWI 4) Mixing Your Watercolours https://youtu.be/wlXlmuFqPTQ 5) Painting a Watercolour Landscape https://youtu.be/HJTA93jrRJo The equipment that I use in my watercolour videos is listed on my website: https://www.ourlandscape.co.uk/kit-resources AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE This video contains affiliate links to products, which means that I receive a small commission on a purchase of those products without additional cost to you. The purpose of this video is to share my knowledge and experience of landscape painting and watercolor with you and from time to time that may involve me recommending products that I use. I receive some of those products from manufacturers for free, but the products that I recommend are only products that I believe in, have used for many years and am comfortable to recommend to you. The products that I receive are not contingent on me making any video tutorial content, nor are they part of a legal sponsorship arrangement.
