A group of German oldtimer enthusiasts, led by agricultural journalist and sugar beet aficionado Sascha Jussen, organised their first classic sugar beet harvesting event on September 28th in Jülich, Germany. Almost 6 decades of harvesting technology were shown side by side. A unique sight in one field.
From topping and lifting with horses to a single row self propelled harvester, mounted and trailer 2 and 3 row harvesters and finally a 6 row harvester and bunker loader. Once the beet had been lifted it was piled, cleaned and transport. The harvested field was cultivated with more classic machinery.
