When riding vintage motorcycles from the late 1960s and 1970s, we often overlook the people and cultures connected to them behind the scenes. These motorcycles were originally designed for the riders of their time, around 1970, rather than for those of us in 2025. To better understand vintage bike culture, we should take a closer look at old photographs and films from 50 years ago. This can help us learn how past riders interacted with their motorcycles and with each other.
1960年代後半から1970年代のヴィンテージ・モーターサイクルに乗っている旧車好きの我々も、しばしばそれらの舞台裏で関わっていた人々やその文化を見過ごしている。これらのモーターサイクルはもともと、2025年の私たちのためではなく、1970年前後の当時のライダーのために設計され生産されたものなのだ。ヴィンテージ・バイク・カルチャーをより深く理解するべく、50年前の古い写真やフィルム等を長め、過去のライダー（オトキチ）たちがバイクとどう向き合い、そしてオトキチ同士どのように接していたかを知るのことに新鮮な面白さを感じずにはいられない。
