ഇസ്രായേൽ ജനം മരുഭൂമിയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ വെള്ളം കിട്ടാതെ മോശയുമായി തർക്കിച്ചു. കർത്താവ് കല്‌പിച്ചതുപോലെ പാറയിൽ നിന്ന് വെള്ളം പ്രവഹിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ ദൈവത്തിൻ്റെ വാക്കുകൾ കൃത്യമായി അനുസരിക്കാതെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ച മോശയ്ക്ക് വാഗ്ദത്തദേശത്തേക്ക് പ്രവേശിക്കാൻ അനുമതി കിട്ടിയില്ല. കുമ്പസാരം എന്ന കൂദാശയിലൂടെ പാപങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞ് അവയ്ക്ക് മാപ്പ് സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ പിശാചിന് നമ്മുടെ മേലുള്ള എല്ലാ അവകാശവും ഇല്ലാതാവുന്നു എന്ന് ഡാനിയേൽ അച്ചൻ ഓർമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
