The start of the west or the end of the east? As the long days of summer arrive, I drive my '22 Rubicon 800 miles from Westchester County, NY to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, exploring the back country and shoreline of the Great Lakes. In the evening, I cook and pop the camper top when it's time to drift off. Jeep camping in a thunder storm on Lake Michigan, digging for copper in the Keweenaw Peninsula, and kayaking Pictured Rocks on Lake Superior are all part of the adventure. So is a respiratory bug and fever, which adds more challenge. Summer in northern Michigan is paradise and I'm happy I had the chance to live it for a few days. Hope you join me!
