Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Part 2 shows how to make cardboard/cellophane (glued to foam) pads for those cartridges that are missing them. Shows how to clean lubricant off of pinch roller, how to clean/wax cartridge shell for easier insertion/removal. Just some added tips here for your 8 track player itself: As always, keep the heads and track sensing electrodes demagnetized with a wand type demagnetizer and clean them well. The double-header type cleaner that has an abrasive pad/wod where the pinch roller normally is is great. I wrap a strip of paper towel over it (so it hangs out on top and bottom of cleaner when I stick it in), dab it with some isopropyl alcohol where the abrasive pad is, and insert it into the player. It cleans the drive shaft very well and you'll see all the balck crud on the paper towel (always dry the drive shaft first before putting in a tape! Repeat with a dry paper towel) . If I can remove the drive shaft, I clean it with metal polish. When I first get a player (particularly one with soiled heads), I use Brasso or Noxon metal polish on the heads and electrodes which gives them a brilliant shine and very smooth surface (like new). Applypolish with Q-tips and don't press too hard on the head as they can dent easily. If you are splicing a broken tape, use splicing tape. Scrape off a small section of the lubricant with the edge of the razor so that it adheres better. Trim off excess on edges. Don't put splicing tape on the tape playing side.
