In this episode we assemble the 1955 Chevy Nomad Chassis. In the previous video I stripped the everything off and it was a bare chassis. I then wire wheeled it front to back and did a little rust repair.
I started off by painting the entire frame with KBS chassis coater. It's a self leveling brush on product that is specifically designed to be used over rust. After a day of dry time, I started installing the brand new front end from EBAY.
A set of Ebay tubular control arms ended up being cheaper than rebuilding the stock set up. New ball joints and bushings, plus it adds more caster for a better handing car.
With the front suspension assembled with new parts I started to install a POWER disc brake set up I purchased of, you guessed it EBAY. I gotta say this was the BEST disc brake kit I have every installed! Very simple and affordable.
Time to let the rebuilt frame sit for another night before it goes in cold storage to make room for the NOMAD!!!!
