Swapping an orange LED for a yellow one made a big difference to the signal box, extending the bay platform a few inches enabled realistic operation, what else is there to do? So many times it is the little things that drastically transform the layout.
Adding a driver to a cab, a passenger to a seat or a sign to a street. I wonder if the details are what sets a layout apart from others? Probably!
I’ve found that getting it right the first time is a good goal but as our standards improve, modeling skills improve and new products become available we’ll often want to redo something we spent hours working on once upon a time long long ago. Model railways are indeed never finishes - this is a good part of the “why”!
