The smell of fresh soil and the sound of pickaxes are mixed together. Nomadic families work from sunrise. The father of the family, wiping the sweat from his forehead with a local handkerchief, hits the pickaxe firmly on the ground. The sound of the pickaxe hitting the hard mountain soil shows the hard work of these people.
The mother of the family quickly brings buckets full of water from the nearby spring to soften the soil. Girls in colorful local skirts collect small stones and boys carry materials. Even the younger children sit in the corner and separate the pebbles.
The old man of the family, with his many years of experience, shows the exact location of the walls. Everyone has a duty here. Neighbor women also came to help and brought food with them - fresh local bread, cheese, and tea brewed in a copper teapot.
When it is noon, everyone gathers together. A simple but blessed table is spread. Loud laughter and conversation. It's not as if they were working hard since early morning. After lunch and a short rest, work starts again.
When the evening comes, the shape of the courtyard of the house is determined. Everyone is tired but happy. Tomorrow is another day and work continues. This is a picture of nomadic life - where everyone helps each other, hard work means nothing when it is done with love and compassion.
Another family is building a house here among the towering mountains. Not with modern materials, but with the same old methods, with calloused hands and kind hearts. This is the living heritage of Iran that is still breathing.
