In this video series, Andy (Kent Survival) and I head off to the Swedish Wilderness for a five day canoeing and bushcraft adventure inspired by Dave Bliss’ book ‘Paddles and Polar Bread’. Paddling along the massive lake Stora Le, we experience all the weather Sweden can throw at us, from glorious sunshine, to snow and strong winds whipping the lake up into a raging turmoil of waves and spray. We take all our equipment and food with us in our aluminium Linder canoes and camp in Dano huts or wild camp along the way.
This video is episode one, our journey takes us from the canoe outfitters in the town of Ed (Canodal) to the first Dano hut site, via a stunning waterfall and a pretty beach inlet where we stop for lunch. After exploring the area, setting up my hammock and tarp and preparing firewood for the evening, we settle down for a well earned dinner and a relaxing evening. In this video I will also show you my sleeping set-up and my camp and cook kit.
I hope you enjoy the video and please tune in for the next episode.
Thanks for watching!
