Video Not Working? Fix It Now

How IFS Can Help You Stay Calm and Feel Effective When Your Client Tells You They are Overdoing It Our clients worry about their drinking or weekend partying or their screen time; they obsess about what they eat or worry they are too 'into’ porn or sports betting... what do we do? How do we talk about this effectively? Should we keep seeing them? It is not just the client who is worried - therapists are worried, too. Do we know enough to keep working with this client? IFS can help! In this experiential workshop you will learn how to apply the IFS model to welcome and normalize common fears and polarities with the client using substances or feeling a little compulsive; how to identify and understand firefighter reasoning and positive intentions and effectively connect to 'acting out' parts; how to reach out safely to the abandoned exiles under the surface. We will also explore therapist bias and common therapist fears and how self-compassion creates good clinical connections.
