I first saw this concept in Matt Parker's 10,000 Domino Computer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpLU__bhu2w), which I'd absolutely recommend watching: computer simulations make for great visualizations, but building the physical domino circuit is an entirely different type of impressive.
