A cyber fraud has come to light, where miscreants have been using fake and illegal PhonePe payment apps to deceive merchants. Dy. SP Lohit, Tago Maga, has alerted the residents of Lohit, informing them that three individuals—two juveniles and one adult—were recently arrested for their involvement in this scam. He urged all vendors to remain vigilant and verify that payments are successfully credited to their bank accounts before confirming transactions. Lohit Police has launched an investigation into the matter, and a case has been registered at Tezu Police Station.
