This documentary, ‘Struggle for Recognition’ is produced by National Indigenous Women Forum in association with the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives.
This is an effort to document the struggles and successes of indigenous activists as well as to inspire young indigenous peoples.
It tells the stories of Pinky Gurung, the chairperson of Blue Diamond Society, an LGBT rights organisation; Stella Tamang, an Indigenous activist and one of the founders of National Indigenous Women’s Federation; Radhika Tamang, Deputy Speaker, Provincial Assembly of Bagmati Province; Saraswoti Rai, the founder of Himalayan Bio; and Parbati Thapa Magar, former Deputy Inspector General.
